About Maestro

The way code gets written has changed more in the last year than in the previous twenty. Maestro is the platform engineering leaders use to navigate this transition — helping teams adopt AI deliberately, hold their craft to a higher standard, and turn the moment into a durable advantage instead of a missed one.

As an early-stage, venture-backed startup, joining our team means you’ll play a critical role in shaping our product and company culture. You’ll have the opportunity to design and deliver customer-facing features, address critical customer issues, and contribute to our technical and operational foundations from day one. We are a Seattle-based company, biased toward in-person collaboration, but open to fully remote for the right candidates.

The role

As a Senior Full-Stack Engineer at Maestro, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Build product and infrastructure. As an early engineer, you’ll shape architectural decisions that allow Maestro to scale to meet our growing customer base. You’ll work closely with design and PM to plan and ship our core product.
  • Develop our technical foundation. The work you do today lays the groundwork for everything we build next. We need a flexible foundation that adapts as the AI landscape moves underneath us.
  • Engage with customers. You’ll triage critical customer issues, provide technical guidance, and make sure our users have the best experience with Maestro.
  • Help us grow the team. As one of the first engineers, you’ll be instrumental in recruiting, hiring, and developing new talent. The bar you set is the bar.

Possible projects

  • Build session ingestion across Claude Code, Cursor, Codex — and the next AI coding tool that doesn’t exist yet. Every customer integration starts here.
  • Ship the Code Impact and Review Impact pipelines that read the actual diff and tell leaders what changed, why it mattered, and whether it added debt.
  • Architect deep integrations with GitHub, Slack, Jira, and Linear so the insights land where engineers and leaders already work.
  • Scale our platform to meet the dynamic demands of a rapidly growing customer base — robust, reliable, fast.

Ideal candidate

If this is you, let’s talk:

  • 5+ years of full-stack engineering experience, with a stellar track record creating and launching robust, scalable systems.
  • AWS expert. Deep experience with ECS, EC2, SQS, Lambda, and S3 powering high-performing applications.
  • Backend skills. Proficient in Python or Node.js, building efficient backend services and data pipelines.
  • Frontend experience. Comfortable with React, building engaging and dynamic user interfaces.
  • AI and NLP knowledge. Hands-on experience developing AI features and integrating with APIs like OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google Gemini.
  • Customer focus. Dedicated to building products that users love and solving real customer problems.
  • Ownership mentality. Proactive and autonomous; you understand customer needs and have the judgment to address them.
  • Collaborative approach. You enjoy working cross-functionally to achieve outstanding outcomes and contribute to our culture.

Bonus points

  • Pre-product-market-fit startup experience
  • Experience leading or mentoring a team
  • Expertise in DevOps and infrastructure
  • Based in Seattle

Compensation

Base salary $150,000–$190,000, plus generous early-employee equity and benefits. Final offer depends on skills, experience, and education. Equity at this stage is a real part of the package, not a footnote.
